The Journal of Cell Biology (JCB) is a not-for-profit publication, edited by scientists, and a leading life sciences journal. The JCB publishes papers on all aspects of cellular structure and function.

Areas of interest include, but are not restricted to, nuclear organization and structure, protein and membrane trafficking, signal transduction, cytoskeleton and molecular motors, cell cycle and division, cell growth, survival and death, cellular adhesion and motility, and intercellular communication. The JCB also encourages the submission of manuscripts that define the interfaces between cell biology and other fields, especially those elucidating the cell biological basis of problems in immunology, neurobiology, microbial pathology, developmental biology, and disease.
