Cent ans après la fondation du Bauhaus, il est temps de revisiter le journal Bauhaus comme un témoignage écrit significatif de ce mouvement emblématique de l'art moderne.

Dans ce journal, publié périodiquement de 1926 à 1931, les voix les plus importantes du mouvement sont entendues: les maîtres du Bauhaus, entre autres, Josef Albers, Walter Gropius, Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, László Moholy-Nagy et Oskar Schlemmer, ainsi que Herbert Bayer, Marcel Breuer, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Gerrit Rietveld et bien d'autres. Ils abordent les développements dans et autour du Bauhaus, les méthodes et les points focaux de leur propre enseignement, et les projets courants des étudiants et des maîtres. A l'époque principalement adressée aux membres du «cercle des amis du Bauhaus», la revue publiée par Gropius et Moholy-Nagy rend tangible la voix authentique de ce porte-parole de l'avant-garde. La réimpression en fac-similé vise à donner un nouvel élan aux discussions et recherches internationales sur le Bauhaus, ses théories et ses conceptions. They address the developments in and around the Bauhaus, the methods and focal points of their own teaching, and current projects of students and masters. At the time primarily addressed to the members of the"circle of friends of the Bauhaus," the journal published by Gropius and Moholy-Nagy makes tangible the authentic voice of this mouthpiece of the avant-garde.
